Learning Resource Centre Manager

Monday-Friday 35 hrs/week – 7 hrs daily, 8am-4pm (ideally)

Grade H Points 18-23

FTE Salary £24,982 – £27,741    Term time only: Actual salary £20,168

Starting from September St. Aidan’s is looking to appoint a Learning Resource Centre Manager within School.

Managing a busy and vibrant learning environment, the selected candidate will believe that a love for literacy is the key to unlocking education across the whole School experience.

From day to day library management, promoting fiction and non-fiction books, to arranging events such as ‘Reading Champions’, ‘World Book Day’, ‘Battle of the Books’ and ‘Meet the Author’ type events, you will raise the profile of reading across the School.

A pro-active and enthusiastic individual, you will promote creative thinking through themed displays and book reviews.  You will recognise and support individual choice and diversity of thinking in your promotion and selection of reading materials.

You will build a positive rapport with students and staff alike as you offer your own in-depth knowledge and insight of printed and on-line resources.  An avid reader, you will instil a sense of excitement around reading for pleasure and enable students to research using effective strategies and tools.

You will liaise with other members of staff, introducing new students to the Learning Resource Centre and supervise students who come in to study.  You will have responsibility for other library staff and a budget for resources.

You will work particularly closely with the English department introducing new Year 7 and Year 12 students to the Learning Resource Centre and provide book boxes of resources for classrooms and other Heads of Subject. You will stay abreast of the different subject curriculum changes and buy in up-to-date resources as required.

General Teaching Assistants

Full time – 25 hours per week, term time only, including training days

9.10am-3.35pm Monday-Friday

Grade C (with SEN allowance) £11,257 per annum

Fixed term from September 2021 to August 2022

We are looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work in our highly valued Learning Support Department.

This is an extremely varied role assisting those students with Special Educational Needs.  Under the guidance of the Head of Learning Support, and the Classroom Teachers, you will be providing support for children with a variety of educational needs, enabling all of our students to thrive, both within, and outside of, the classroom.

Work will vary, enabling access to the curriculum within the classroom to students with SEND. Liaising with class teachers to support the management of pupil behaviour in lessons will also be of paramount importance.

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school, facilitating learning through excellent teaching and support, and promoting a whole-child approach in terms of social and emotional development.  You will be involved in supporting individuals in classroom activities, on educational visits, and with IT, using specialist learning aids and physical equipment as appropriate.

Working with the Head of Learning Support and the Teaching Staff, you will contribute to annual review meetings, and liaise with relevant agencies and parents in a mutually beneficial and professional manner.

You will use your initiative, responding to situations as they arise, using your skills and experience to bring the very best out of our students with special educational needs.  You will likely be required to cover some lunch duties (with additional pay) or given alternative time to cover break duties on a rota basis.

We are looking for hard working, reliable and enthusiastic staff to work within our very busy Cleaning Teams at the above schools within Yorkshire Causeway School Trust.

The post-holder will be responsible for a wide range of cleaning duties, ensuring that areas of work allocated are cleaned to the required specification.

The successful applicant will have excellent attention to detail, good organisational skills and work well as part of a team.  You will also have the confidence to use your own initiative in responding to the ever-changing Covid-19 situation.

No experience is needed as training and support will be given, and a uniform is provided.  The vacancy is available immediately and will be subject to enhanced DBS check (paid for by school) and satisfactory employment reference checks.
